Run Club

Description

At Calvary, we believe that God often meets us not only in stillness, but also in movement. “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1). The Calvary Running Club exists to do just that, together. This is more than a running group; it is a community rooted in encouragement, discipline, fellowship, and faith.

We meet twice each week to run, grow, and support one another:

Wednesdays at 5:30 AM, in the Calvary Church parking lot facing Mid River Mall Drive

Saturdays at 7:00 AM, at Katy Trail, in the gravel parking lot at the bottom of Pittman Hill

Our group is made up of both men and women from all walks of life and all levels of running experience. Whether you’re a recreational walker or jogger, just getting started, or a seasoned runner pursuing ambitious goals, even something like qualifying for the Chicago Marathon, you will find a place here. We believe every journey matters, and no one runs alone.

Running shapes more than just our bodies. It teaches perseverance, humility, patience, and reliance, virtues Scripture reminds us are essential to the Christian life. As Ecclesiastes 4:9 tells us, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” We sharpen one another, encourage one another, and celebrate progress together, no matter the pace.

If you’ve been looking for a way to care for your body, build meaningful relationships, and pursue personal goals within a Christ-centered community, we would love for you to join us. Come as you are. Run at your pace. Stay for the fellowship. Let’s run the race God has set before us together.
