Session 2: March 12 - April 16 (excluding 3/26)

NT Bible: Miracles of Jesus | Part 2 (Beth Wade)

Do you believe in miracles? Jesus performed many when he walked on earth. Is He still in the business of doing miracles today? Does the presence of miracles in your life have anything to do with how expectantly you look for one? Come join in the discussion as we gather ‘round the table to discuss the signs and miracles of Jesus as outlined in John’s gospel. Each week we will listen as a portion of the scripture is read aloud and then interact with the text as we discuss its meaning. No preparation/no homework. Previous Bible study may be helpful but is not necessary. This is a low-key, user-friendly approach to reading and understanding scripture, with the goal of seeing how Jesus can make the impossible in our lives possible. This class will be split into two parts – participation in one is not required for participation in the other.

Family Ministries: Sexuality (Jeff Harding)

In this class geared to parents, we’ll be discussing the important and complex topic of human sexuality. How do we lead our children and families well in a culture that is so overly sexualized? In this grace-filled class, we’ll discuss the purposeful sexuality God created for us, the depths of how sin has distorted it, and how to equip ourselves with the discernment and hospitality needed for those walking through our doors asking all sorts of questions and identifying any number of ways. Using the Bible, healthy theology, definitions of current identities/terms/diagnoses of sexuality, and research, we will aim to set up as parents for better awareness, perspective, and conversations with their kids around the topic of sexuality.

Christian Living: Social Engagement (Paul Utnage & Brad Aslin)

Culture, society, and politics are important spheres of social engagement, and God is keenly interested in them. How should Christians engage the culture and society in which we live? In this five-week class we will share a theological framework for Christian social engagement. Join us and we’ll consider and discuss what the bible has to say regarding several important topics: politics, abortion, immigration, and the environment.
