“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
(Psalm 8:1 ESV).
Psalm 8 is quoted by the Apostle Paul in Philippians 2, applying the praise of the LORD to Jesus. The words paint a picture of God’s glory. When we look at the expanse of the skies, the stars, the heavens - “What is man that God is mindful of him?” God is big! God’s glory is grand! And yet… God desires to know us on an intimate level - so intimate that he sent Jesus to leave his place in the heavens to join in our toil on earth. God is greatly to be praised, indeed!
Action: This week - notice the colors and smells of fall, the crispness of the air, and the coolness of the evening. Praise God that despite his grand otherness he makes himself knowable to us.
